Got a chance to spend the day out duck hunting and I have to say that this morning the birds were flying and falling everywhere except for in front of me. We got on location late and got stuck with a crappy spot. Some birds flew over but by the time you could see them it was too late. Got a few shots off but nothing.
Then after everyone else left we moved over to a prime location and settled in. Watched a few dozen Woodies swim up the channel just out of range and they flew really low less than a foot above water level. Didn't get a single shot off in the afternoon but my partner did knock down one duck.
I was just happy to get out and do some hunting and plan to get out again in the morning if my legs can handle it. They are really sore from all that tromping around in the marsh. Obviously someone needs to get in better shape before trapping season.
